1st- the program must be secured on firm financial ground to enable it to grow.
~This will initially need to happen by outside sources
~To prepare long term I will build a non-profit hostel of which the profits will go towards H.E.A.L.S.- this will make the program self-sustainable and thus eventually independent of outside help.
2nd- the program must secure itself through leadership. This is where I come in. Jolly has asked me to come to Gulu and run H.E.A.L.S. I know that God has opened this door, so this is what I am pursuing to do with my life. With out a leader as the driving force behind the organization, H.E.A.L.S. will never grow.
One day- H.E.A.L.S. will be a program that provides large opportunities for the youth of Northern Uganda. My dreams evolve everyday. I will keep you posted. Please let me know if you have any advice or suggestions. I greatly appreciate your support!
Wow Heidi! This is amazing! I've posted it on my facebook and sent it to my daughter, Rachel. If you hear from a Rachel Boerema, that's our daughter who lives in So Cal. She has always wanted to be involved with children - orphans or something, so this will have a place in her heart. We will pray. God will make a way! Keep seeking Him first - we admire you!
